green floating

If we think of paradise or an oasis, it's not exactly architecture of concrete, steel or stone that comes to our minds. Our thoughts usually take us to a lushes green ambiance where we can fully relax and enjoy while birds whistle, flowers grow and butterflies do what butterflies do..

This model has inspired us in developing ‘Green Floating'.

Floating ecological watervillas surrounding a botanical SpaWellness facility, designed by award winning architect Anne Holtrop, and produced from recycled and recyclebale polystyrene form the heart of the green floating village.

Flora is all around since all watervillas and SpaWellness facility are ecologically supervised by famous French botanical architect Patrick Blanc who covers all outside walls and roofs with plants and flowers according to his ‘mur végétal' model. This concept is based on the knowledge that plants do not need soil to grow. Just the water on which the villas float in combination with the minerals in that water, together with common daylight and carbon dioxide (CO2) will create a botanical spectacle.

Watervilla owners within the North American climate zone, in consultation with Anne Holtrop and Patrick Blanc, have a choice of over 180 different plants and flowers to pick from in order to customise their section in paradise. A fully automatic irrigation system ensures the resort to look like nirvana both summer and winter.

The green covered walls offer, when quietly situated, an ideal breeding ground for different birds and butterflies. An ornithologist/ecologist will in consultation with Blanc and Holtrop advise in the creation of ideal biotopes, so flora and fauna will flourish best.

‘Green Floating' offers an oasis of peace and pure wellness. An entourage in which owners and users enjoy an extremely high quality standard of living. However, a remarkable contribution in solving some of the major issues of our time is achieved while living the life. These are the issues that 'Green Floating' helps solving;

-CO2/Greenhouse issue

‘Green Floating' objects turn CO2 straight into oxygen, they love it! Bottom line even more then owners and users of the resort expel altogether. 'Green Floating' resorts are CO2 negative.

-The population issue

If you watch the globe, how colourful the continents may be, 70% of our planet is blue and full of water. Lots of water. In total 1370 km3

-Environmental waste issue

EPS, or expanded polystyrene is one of the most tough waste materials on our planet. On average it takes up to 90 years to biodegrade a polystyrene coffee cup or hamburger shell. However, the product is easy to recycle. In RexwallTM it even serves the planet.

-The energy issue

Fossil fuels are running out at high speed. Energy prices go through the roof. RexwallTM is one of the best insulating building materials available. In combination with our climate system (that uses the amount of energy as an ordinary fridge to heat an entire villa) energy savings are up to 70%!
